Purgatory Ski Resort is not only in a beautiful setting perfect for our rally, it also offers so many things to do. Free shuttle buses run from 10am - 5pm each day, and go by about every 15 minutes or so. They can even take you to the lake across the street. Everything is close enough to be walkable as well!
There are 3 restaurants that will be open each day within walking distance:
Purgy's Bear Bar: burgers, steaks, salads, sandwiches, cocktails, and VIEWS!
Paradise Pizzeria: pizza, pasta, salads, full service bar, ice cream, and more.
Village Market and Deli: Sandwiches, soups, salads, pastries, hot breakfasts, coffee, etc.
Camp EKKO attendees pay only $17 for a scenic ride on the ski lift. You'll experience beautiful views of the San Juan mountains! At the top you can either hop off and check out the views, or stay on & go right back down. Why not pack a lunch, bring a picnic blanket, and picnic at the top!? Remember it's much colder up top so even if it's warm at the base, bring your coats! Check out the Purgatory website for more details.
For $39, attendees can get 5 trips on any combination of: Mountain Coaster, Alpine Slide, Gem Mining, Scenic Chair Lift Ride and Paddling Twilight Lake.
Twilight Lake is the beautiful mountain lake across the highway from the resort. It's small enough that it makes it great for beginning paddlers. The slide and the mountain coaster are especially great fun for thrill-seekers! You get to wind through the trees down the mountain -- and on the coaster you get a hand brake so whether you go top speed or slow? It's totally up to you! Click the links for more info.
The area around Purgatory offers a few different options for hiking, including the World Champs XC trail. Click here for more!
